Accounts Receivable Specialist – Allentown, PA

JOB SUMMARY

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for processing all incoming payments to the dealership in a timely manner. The ideal candidate is familiar with all accounting procedures and can manage daily financial transactions and other tasks assigned by management. The candidate must be reliable, self-motivated and detail oriented.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS AND PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Work with other departments to ensure that the correct amounts are collected in a timely manner.
  • Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
  • Accurately enter all cash receipts and prepare daily bank deposits.
  • Reconcile accounting schedules as needed.
  • Filing, data entry, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Track/maintain all tax exemption forms.
  • Assist customers with account inquiries.
  • Serve as back-up to Financial/Investment personnel.
  • Assist and/or back-up to others within the Accounting Dept and any additional duties or projects assigned by the Controller and Office Manager.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:

  • Accounting or related degree required.
  • 2+ years of direct accounting experience required.
  • Truck or automotive dealership experience is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Title Clerk or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Must possess and use good interpersonal skills and can interact well with customers, vendors, and co-workers in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Display ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills are highly desired.
