TransEdge Truck Centers – Our Story
TransEdge Truck Centers has a rich history, just like the Mack Trucks and Volvo Truck Corporations. The heritage of TransEdge Truck Centers dates back to when the Mack Truck Company first established itself in Allentown, Pennsylvania in the early 1920’s as a factory operated branch. In 1969 the branch was relocated to a new facility on 1407 Bulldog Drive, our present flagship location. This facility was built as a showcase branch because it was situated in what was considered true Bulldog country as Mack Trucks had moved their World Headquarters to Allentown. At this time, the Allentown Branch was a Fleet Center with the majority of its business in servicing major accounts for the Mack Truck Company.
The Allentown Branch of Mack Trucks became a privately owned distributorship in December, 1990 when, as part of a corporate restructuring plan, Mack Trucks sold the branch to the present owners, and the name was changed to Allentown Mack Sales and Service, Inc. Five years later, Allentown Mack acquired Blue Mountain Mack in Schuylkill Haven, PA. In 2006, Allentown Mack Sales and Service, Inc. acquired Pittsburgh Mack. The company changed its name to TransEdge Truck Centers and has evolved into a driving force in the Pennsylvania transportation industry. With six modern facilities – Allentown, Blue Mountain, Pittsburgh, Poconos, Hino & Leasing Center, and Modification Center – TransEdge Truck Centers services Pennsylvania and its surrounding areas.
Now providing sales, parts, and service for Mack Trucks, Volvo Heavy Trucks, Hino, and Crane Carrier truck lines, TransEdge Truck Centers provides custom solutions for its customers. Better Solutions. Better Transportation.
